Li Garden Dance Company invites the community to celebrate the Year of the Horse with two special Chinese New Year performances at local public libraries on February 21 and 22, 2026.
At both events, audiences will enjoy a vibrant program of cultural folk and classical dances performed by both adults and children. Featured pieces include Dragon Dance, Warrior’s Sword Dance, My Beloved Mountain, A Joyful Ride in Tibet, and Appreciating Flowers. Beyond the stage, the experience continues with interactive elements such as Chinese calligraphy demonstrations, basic dance movement instruction, storytelling, martial arts demonstrations, paper crafts, and face painting, making these programs engaging for all ages.
The first performance takes place on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 2:00–3:00 pm at the Milford Public Library. This in-person event includes four dance pieces, calligraphy demonstrations, and an opportunity for audience members to learn simple dance movements. Registration is required and space is limited.
The celebration continues on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 2:00–3:30 pm at the Main Library’s Dudley N. Williams, Jr. Auditorium at the Ferguson Library in Stamford. This expanded program features a broader celebration of East and Southeast Asian cultures, with additional performances, hands-on activities, and food samplings provided by Kumo Ultimate Sushi & Hibachi. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Ferguson Library and is designed for children and accompanying adults.
