On Sunday, April 26, 2026, join us at New Canaan Library for Tang Elegance and Delight, a special performance celebrating the beauty of Chinese classical dance and calligraphy.
Inspired by the vibrant culture of the Tang Dynasty (618–907) – a golden age of artistic exchange – this interdisciplinary program brings to life the elegance and creativity of everyday Tang life. Through the flowing movements of dance and the expressive strokes of calligraphy, audiences will experience how art, poetry, and scholarship were seamlessly woven into daily life.
The program draws inspiration from traditional leisure arts of the Tang period, including poetry gatherings, tea culture, flower appreciation, Nanyin music, calligraphy, and Cuju (ancient Chinese football), capturing the vitality and openness that defined the Tang spirit.
